Jenny Olsen is an oil painter. She received her MFA 2D Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in May 2022. Before entering graduate study at MassArt, she worked full time and painted on her own. Jenny has shown her work in solo, small group, juried and invitational exhibitions. She is a recipient of the Saint Botolph Club Foundation Emerging Artist award and grant in 2022, MassMoCA Residency Fellowship in 2022, and the “Best in Show'' winner of CAA’s National Prize Show in 2015.
A mostly abstract painter before. Figures are now dominant in her work. She is interested in the parallel existence of time and places. Birthday cakes, books, bathtubs, toes, shoes, and ghosts are some of her recent recurring themes.
